DC Heads up! US Park Police have just decided they are reinstating plans to CLOSE DUPONT CIRCLE against WorldPride. Fencing to go up soon. This has been planned for more than a month.

Key line from the Post report is as follows:

"On Thursday evening, Vincent Slatt — a Dupont Circle advisory neighborhood commissioner who chairs the ANC Rainbow Caucus — received an email from the National Park Service chief of staff who oversees the National Mall and Memorial Parks, which said U.S. Park Police “is continuing its determination for closure.”

This naked act of raw aggression could lead to some serious trouble over the weekend. Most of the attendees at Pride come for (and gear up for) a party not a battle but provoking over 100,000 people by closing the park in their faces is not a smart move.

Remember Stonewall was a riot.

If their is fighting and people get hurt, this is on the Trump, the US Park Police, and Mayor Bowser.

Keep in mind, any crowd capable of pulling down a 10,000 pound plus Confederate statue of stone or bronze can easily pull down these "no-climb" fences set only on their own bases or in Jersey Walls. If the cops respond with tear gas and rubber bullets fired at WorldPride, this will be another blow to the US and to all international events hosted in the US.
