Every day I have to filter through all the items I find, looking for those that seem to me the most relevant and most important for readers to know, not simply those that are the most alarming or most sensationalist.

I’m not trying to scare people — well, maybe I am trying to scare people — but the point is not simply for you to be frightened, but to take action in the face of a looming disaster.
