I am attempting to find a copy of a 662 page treatise on "The Algebraic Eigenvalue Problem" written in 1965 in order to understand precisely why my colleagues use of MASS::mvrnorm() does wild things in real life and I now think it was a mistake to try to do linear algebra using fancy sand #rstats
A screenshot of a book review of Wilkinson's (1965) work "The Algebraic Eigenvalue Problem". The review is about a page long, and too long for a literal transcription but the key takeaway is that the book is *very* thorough. I started crying when I got to the bit about perturbation theory because that's the one that is giving me real life grief
