1) total destruction of Ukraine, risking nuclear war
2) appeasement of Putin (Chomsky's preference)

3 years later, a crypto-fascist Republican President has tried option 2. Already it appears to have failed.
Both Chomsky and Orange Stalin appear to have forgotten that it's not up to the US to decide Ukraine's defence strategy. That's up to Ukrainians. They don't appear keen to appease Putin, and Putin himself doesn't appear willing to be appeased. He's potentially drawing up plans to carry on through Ukraine and into Europe;
