I've been updating a thread with information about Rodney Hinton and his son Ryan who was killed by police.
A lot of comments about Ryan Hinton's death being necessary because he may have had a gun.
First off Ryan was of legal age in a state where open carry is LEGAL. If you think Ryan should die because a cop SAW a gun then go change the open carry law.
Anyways, here's two white kids ACTIVELY pointing guns at cops who manage to not kill them.
In Cincinnati, the cops have a well known history of killing unarmed Blacks but arresting alive armed Whites suspects.
The issue that has really moved a lot of folks like me who used to be distracted by the "why did they have gun?" argument off to fully into the ACAB perspective is that bad cops are so rarely punished.
It can be the most cut and dry case of murder and the cops get off, typically with ZERO jail time or direct economic penalty.
Literally the same one of the US most well covered cases of police murder had this update . . .
Next, white people REALLY don't know what the fuck life is like for the majority of Black Americans and poor whites.
Cops profile as a rule all dark Black people and and poor people. If you happen to fit the profile for both then you're going to have WAAY more police contact than average.
Every police stop in the US comes with a literal threat of arbitrary death.
For Philando Castile he was stopped at least 46 times in pretextual stops before his death.
A good friend of mine in high school was stopped at a frequency similar to Philando Castile.
He was one of the biggest nerds in high school, but he was also black and had a cheap car.
He was stopped by cops almost weekly for years. We worried about him constantly.
The police are a deadly threat to me, my friends and my family. And have been my whole life.
Cops harass + kill the wrong people, don't investigate the crimes the community wants help with and frequently are criminals themselves.
