As a protestor among millions in #Korea: Please don't use us to denigrate resistance in the U.S. and elsewhere. It smacks of respectability politics and victim-blaming. Resistance movement cultures in the U.S. are as lively and vital as anywhere else, but they're extensively ignored by corporate media and suppressed more violently by far less responsive and despotic governments. The contexts are entirely different and one-on-one comparisons are impossible.
