Irish Times: An insightful column from Roe here with some well written bits:
"No party or politician attacking trans people has ever meaningfully protected women’s rights outside the narrow, hostile frame they use to justify disempowering trans people"

Ireland: Trans woman takes legal action after her child is denied Irish citizenship (she has now been given leave to bring the challenge against the Minister for Foreign Affairs.)
The woman's case states that it would be "discriminatory" if she has to claim to be the child's "father" in order for her child to be granted Irish citizenship.

I wasn't going to post anything serious today but. I. Need. To. Say. This.
Ireland is nothing like TERF island.
Today I was glancing through the booklet for Cork Pride 2025 🌈 in our coffee shop. It includes leading statements by the Irish President and the Taoiseach (equivalent of Prime Minister) on the first few pages
Compared to the UK, attitudes are miles apart and there's a healthy and historical distrust of Westminster and any kind of similar 'Establishment'. I wonder why? (rhetorical given Irish history)
Yes public #Trans healthcare is dreadful in Ireland but private is available, the DIY scene is strong and community roots-led. It's getting MSM press attention too so ... 🤞
(I'll chuck in a gratuitous selfie because an amazing woman is sitting next to me! 🤷🏻♀️)
