I feel ya. I'm constantly arguing political economy here from a vaguely MMT-ish angle. There are all sorts of economic technologies out there, from community network LETS and timebanks to Free Code tools like GNU Taler. But you're right that as with comms and energy, economic transition comes with collection action problems.

The only person I know of that has worked with something similar is @bhaugen with their #ValueFlows . Most academics don't get it, as they are immersed in academics. Don't get me wrong, almost everything I've learned came from academics, but modern academics have blinders. We don't have Gregory Batesons anymore. We have academic specialists.

Here is my simplified version of a combined data and material flow. I got held up longer than I thought I would. Think of it like a 10x simpler version of #valueflows with a 1 day ramp-up time from zero to operational with users unfamiliar with #knowlegegraphs. I avoided the word triples, mostly, this time around. I'll continue to work on the documentation.
