I'm sorry Ford, but you cannot launch a new car model, call it a Capri, and have it look like this.

You just can't.

#Ford #FordCapri

The new Ford Capri EV which looks pretty much like any other crossover / small SUV and despite a little nod with the semicircular curve on the rear passenger window is most emphatically NOT a Ford Capri as we know and love them.

Ford says it's cracked the code on cheap EVs, thanks to more streamlined manufacturing processes and lithium iron phosphate batteries that the company says are more durable, faster charging and more affordable than what it currently uses. There will be more use of automation and robots, but the company declined to specify how this compares to current manufacturing. Ford announced a "family" of low-cost vehicles that will be made in Kentucky, starting with a four-door mid-sized pickup that will arrive in 2027 and will cost $30,000. Here's more from @theverge.

‘#GM and #Ford — not to mention #Apple… are rethinking their plans for self-driving cars. That leaves the future of the US #robotaxi market in the hands of just a few of the richest, most determined tech giants — and a handful of start-ups bold enough to challenge them.’ https://on.ft.com/44LLCTO
