As I've long observed, this is because behind the scenes of #Trumpism is a global #BillionairesInsurgency that has decided that all government (and religious) authority should be accountable TO IT, instread of the other way around.
And because of the outsize role of money IN POLITICS--in the wealthiest nation in the world where money abounds, if overwhelmingly for the wealthiest--the establishment Democractic Party IS OWNED BY THE SAME ENEMY as the fascists, in the war against democracy.
America's descent into authoritarian fascism is made all the more alarming and demoralizing by the Democrats' total failure to rise to the moment:

Our hope here is that the non-voters who stayed home in 2024 will join with the Republicans who thought they wouldn’t be harmed by #Trump, and both will join the liberals who never wanted any of this, to push Trump and his party out of power in the midterms.
