Most well-meaning people are so busy saving the world, that they are unable to save the world. There's no time left for that.

#FreeSoftware world is rich with many realms to wander. Coding adventures ahead there is wizardry, and weird religious quests.
#FOSS has their own shrines and temples where devs and maintainer pilgrims visit and pray for humble gifts from Heaven. They are the FOSS service providers and funding institutions that dot the landscape. Often far away and mystic. Dealing out breadcrumbs and tokens to keep believers fed and happy, faith held high.

Right now when saying "I work in the commons" the person standing next to you with the Google T-shirt nods approvingly, while carrying your created wealth. 😄

From #SOSS perspective you've just interwoven your project deep into a huge grassroots chaotic commons, and are exposed to the #sustainability risks of that decision.

Why then do we turn it into such a weird and warped concept online where at the end of our dev pipelines endless Twitters roll out?
We rightfully revile Silicon Valley style techbroism as we take moral higher standpoints, stick to our values.
Yet in our total rejection of #techbro culture, do we fail to learn from it? SV outperforms #FOSS under #hypercapitalism. #BigTech is winning. We must improve our fitness formula to catch up.
Is where SV #culture differs that folks from across the globe totally dare to unleash creativity? While fedi sees ideas usually followed with techies-impl-talk?
There is the well-known saying "if you only have a hammer, then everything looks like a nail".
We find this quite obvious, and think people who fall for this anti-pattern are foolish.
Yet here we are in our #hypercapitalism-encased little global world, measuring *everything*, all value, every transaction in monetary terms.
How is that not the bluntest, dumbest hammer, and most ignorant way to misperceive value of life?
