„The government had announced it, and now it’s happening: since last week, the first Frontex agents have been on duty at Zaventem airport.
The government’s goal is clear: the Minister of the Interior (Quintin, MR) and the Minister of Asylum and Migration (Van Bossuyt, N-VA) are delighted with this new collaboration. With the support of Frontex, they want to increase the number of deportations by plane.
Anyone staying illegally in Belgium must return to their country as quickly as possible. Thanks to Frontex’s intervention, we can speed up the pace of return operations.’

In #Nijmegen werd de scheepsramp bij #Lampedusa herdacht. Bij deze ramp kwamen minstens 368 mensen op de vlucht om het leven. Daarbij werd er ook gedemonstreerd tegen het dodelijke #Frontex-beleid. ❌️
Ook werd er deze dag gesproken over #Palestina. De tijdspanne van de ongeveer twee jaar daarna waren niet te overzien. Wel kon je ook 'toen al' luisteren naar Palestijnse stemmen en weten dat de geschiedenis niet op die dag begon.
