An interesting write up of an interview with the Edinburgh Spokes cycle campaign.

"Spokes also started producing cycle maps at that point [in the 80s]. Partly you produce a cycle map to show people where the nice places are, whether it's off road routes, quiet streets or whatever, to just show them that it is possible."

Further goal for today, fill the annoying missing tile in Lake Brienz. Right at the top side there is a parking spot where we can get to (do not plan to go for a swim today).

Before I moved from Veloviewer to Squadrats, I had this tile. Maybe the tiles are slightly different defined or the GPS tracks are analyzed differently. In any case, that tile muss be filled again! 😅

Have been living in Switzerland for over 17 years, but for some reason almost always I have been abroad on August 1st, the national holiday remembering the founding of Switzerland in 1291. Was riding my trainingsride on the "Panzerpiste" (military shooting range tanks etc), which is open to the public in the weekends and national holidays.

So I was just minding my own business until I heard shooting and the first thought was "oops, I made the wrong decision, I misread". Only after a few seconds I saw a couple of boys laughing. It only dawned at that point it was only fireworks to celebrate August 1st. 😅 I never realised they shoot so early...
