This is a sad story of a farmer who was subjected to… well, a lot of personal attacks and threats from other farmers and ‘powerful’ people including politicians when he decided to lease a parcel of his land to a Wind Farm. That was some time ago. The problem is, the same disinformation and misinformation is still bandied about by fossil fuel addled idiots and powerful interests for just about every new renewable project. Why aren’t we naming and shaming? Why are journalists silent, or worse still, part of the problems? Why have we not seen these ‘lobbyists’ in the Courts in class actions?

“My lived experience is the opposite to the majority of talk. And I find it unbelievable that after all this time with so many wind farms operating, there’s still the nastiness and the anti and the absolute nonsense said about wind farms.”

Every so often there's some good news in the media. This treaty between Victoria and its First Nations peoples is a welcome step forwards. #VicPol#SpringSt#FirstNationshttps://social.chinwag.org/@abc_bot/115171173588892770

If VicPol are offering a $1m reward for the arrest of Dezi Freeman, isn't this just an admission they've no fucking idea where he is and they need to outsource their job?

Also, ACAB.

VicPol on ABC 774 this morning whining that people are "selfish" for going to protest in the city this weekend whilst their "resources are dedicated to Porepunkah".

I guess the takeaway here is not to have an kind of emergency or be victim of a crime because we don't want to inconvenience the police.

Fuck VicPol. ACAB.

Police are conducting 'random' weapons searches across the entire Melbourne Hoodle grid.

I was searched, apparently this is legal.

A great example of how people power can overturn bad political decisions.

The Melbourne City Council has abandoned proposed cuts to its cycling budget, following public outcry: https://bicyclenetwork.com.au/newsroom/2025/07/03/town-hall-abandons-bike-budget-cuts/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=Mastodon

"In a dramatic change of tune, the City of Melbourne last week abandoned proposals in its draft 2025 budget to cut funding from its bike infrastructure program.

"The council restored much, but not all, of the funding that as recently as last year had been officially earmarked for expanding and upgrading the city's bike lanes over the next four years.

"The 2025 budget and council plan formally adopted by councillors this week folded $6 million back into the program, up to a total of $15 million over the next four years.

"The change of course followed a powerful community outcry over the breach of the council's former commitments on bike infrastructure delivery.

"Almost 1500 people made submissions to the council on the proposed bike underspend, an unprecedented number."
