I missed this a few years ago. I regularly lecture about Homer Plessy and his work in 1892 to fight racial segregation in the American South. @adamgreenfield yes but there is intentionality. We bend the arc towards justice it doesn’t just go. I am more than the answer to the prayers of my enslaved ancestors. I am the result of their actions. I was born in Brooklyn and not in the south because my family wanted something Better than #segregation and they had the means to make it so.
