IMO the #lack of #product #management is the most consequential shortcoming of #FOSS.
To be usable by the less savvy, the Linux desktop lacks stability. Not software stability, but organizational and human stability.
I want maintainers to have a stable income. I want apps to last a decade, instead of having to chase the next rewrite of an abandoned project.
The Linux desktop is a beautiful accident that only exists because people devote part of their lives to it, for better or worse. We ought to support it financially, as a public service.

right, and it lacks #product management and #UX testing. What orgs does it require to foster that? "Scratch your own itch" brought us until here. How from now?
What communities would even want funding for product management? I am sure @NGICommons may help.

Today is the day before I write my weekly newsletter, so of course Brave chooses today to roll out an update that obliterates all of my open tabs by combining "redundant" "inactive" ones. And then automatically opts every user into this feature.
I had a few Mastodon tabs open, now they are just one tab that points to mastodon.social.
So, uhh...anyone write anything good on #Product / #UX topics that they want me to feature this week? 😅

But talking to people IS the work. You can complain about it on the internet, or take responsibility and make your life a lot easier.

J’ai une formation de Product Manager avec près de 8ans dans le Design (UX/UI/Product)
Ma 1ère expérience c’était 5ans dans une start-up early stage où j’ai du coup eu plein de casquettes différentes. De la prospection au dev.
Bref j’suis très polyvalent et j’apprends vite 👀
