Bad UX World Cup 2025

What do we think? Compared to modern #uxdesign more or less of a "go f*ck yourself" than a normal dialog?
If anyone needs a UX design team manager, head of UX or VP-level position, please let me know. My boss is sadly being made redundant and they’re genuinely a great person to work for, have crafted a fantastic team and grown our UX design and research capabilities across the business. Not to mention being great fun on social outings too. 💔
Hybrid positions in the North East of England or remote positions would be perfect.
Currently working on making life easier for people who don't have their own domain. Does this messaging seem clear and helpful?

@stacy @sondrae That was a lot of fun! And I feel like one of the more productive and informative rant fests I've been on.
Here's the toggle article I brought up on the podcast.
Apropos my #TechIsShitDispatch threads…
If you are involved in any way with building #software, and you care about quality, for God's sake, give your users a way to submit feedback.
Not a support ticket or a net promoter score survey or an AI chatbot.
It should be a prominent "go here to tell us what we got wrong" contact method whose responses people actually read and pay attention to.
Your users are your biggest QA team, why aren't you using that?

"Good design is intuitive" is so ingrained into the way we think and talk about the work that we often forget to ask the key question - to whom?
Any interface is "intuitive" to someone who is already familiar with the design patterns and the interaction techniques that it uses. Similarly, any interface is "unintuitive" when it introduces the user to new interaction techniques.
🧵 short thread 🧵
I asked Design Week if they'd join the fediverse and apparently "it's on the backlog" 🤞
But, in direct response to my request, they instantly fixed a Bluesky bridge, so now you can follow their updates: @designweek.co.uk
🎉
This is a step in the right direction 😎

#uxdesign #webdev
Today is the day before I write my weekly newsletter, so of course Brave chooses today to roll out an update that obliterates all of my open tabs by combining "redundant" "inactive" ones. And then automatically opts every user into this feature.
I had a few Mastodon tabs open, now they are just one tab that points to mastodon.social.
So, uhh...anyone write anything good on #Product / #UX topics that they want me to feature this week? 😅
Freue mich!

I'm a bit late to the party, but this post from Sara Wachter-Boettcher from 2023 is even MORE relevant today
