I am hoping this lavish expense will give me a more balanced handwriting experience compared to my fat heavy metal pen (and its medium nib that sips too much ink for my taste and lefthandedness) vs the cheap plastic pen (with its fine nib) that feels too lightweight 🧐

Tested for you: a Kaweco Classic Sport – a pocket fountain pen made of plastic – does not like to get in contact with sand, which may or may not happen in a parent's pocket. The sand got in between the cap and the body of the pen and locked it up so I couldn't uncap it anymore. Trying to force it open left lots of deep scars on the body and the inside of the cap. It still works but it is far from the buttery smooth experience it used to be.
Someone please send me the brass version of the Kaweco Sport 🥺

these were a great place to start and i still have a couple of them. (i guess i feel like the preppy is the modern equivalent, and preferable because less likely to leak.)

Back to possibly my favorite shimmer ink line, Colorverse 🙂 This one is an "old" one, and I can't believe it's taken me this long to get to it.

Works better slightly less inky, get more of the shading rather than a more flat dark teal.

Ham was the first chimp to go to space. Before flight he was known as lab animal No. 65.
