"Hi, It鈥檚 Me, Wikipedia, and I Am Ready for Your Apology鈥lobal academic, scientific, and pro-fact community. I suppose you鈥檝e come to say you鈥檙e sorry? I hope so, given your years of sneering and hand-wringing about how I was ruining knowledge. Meanwhile, you turned your information environment into a hypercapitalist post-truth digital snuff film."

I'm going to teach my first undergrad course of 2025-2026 tomorrow, and I am going to share my #generativeAI policy with them, which is basically:
don't use it.
I don't ask students to do things I wouldn't do myself. To that end, along with some other folks, I wrote an "Organic Academic Pledge" -- a pledge to never use generative AI for our research:

Hi, academics,
I have a question that is somewhat important for understanding the treatment of some untenured folks at a university.
This question is specifically aimed for academics who are working in a country where they are not citizens: How much, if any, assistance did/does your university provide with your necessary visa requirements? (I was going to do a poll but its probably too fine-grained of answers.)
Please share if relevant!
