I think everyone has a kind of bad movie they love, and I think that we should stop calling them bad movies.
Sometimes you love a cheesy movie, or an excessive movie, or a clumsy movie.
If you love it, it's probably not actually Bad.
Bad movies are boring or unenjoyable.

I love cheesy science fiction films and excessive action films and kung-fu movies, for example. There are many excellent examples of these kinds of films that often get labeled "bad."
There's this phenomenon of "so bad it's good" and it's bullshit.
That's a movie that is accidentally good. Good in spite of itself.
Good because it's cheesy, excessive, overly earnest, weirdly produced, etc.
"good" is subjective.
Did you enjoy it? It's good.
Can you recognize the art in it? It's good.
Outsider art is sometimes very good, in spite of its usual lack of technical skill.
Who Killed Captain Alex is a good movie.

The fact that I can recognize the flaws in a work does not make it a Bad work.
I love many flawed movies. I've rarely seen any movie that was not deeply flawed.
@ajroach42 This is why Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter is a good movie, and the Star Wars Holiday special is just plain trash.
@ajroach42 By definition I don't like bad movies, THEY ARE BAD. Almost all Hollywood extruded product of the last 30 years is bad, it's just shitty noise & CGI images, garbage writing, millionaire asshole or outright criminal actors.
A good movie is creative writing, decent (I don't demand much) cinematography, competent actors who hit their marks & say their lines, special effects are done with explosives, latex, & raspberry syrup.
Godfrey Ho's movies are good despite his terrible writing.

@ajroach42 I just posted a video about the history of camp, which is a serious art form with a political background. If the "badness" is intentional, and the creators pull it off, can it really be called bad?
(Zardoz, a traditionally "so bad it's good movie," is INCREDIBLY GOOD in the context of our times. (CWing it only for the rapey stuff.))
