Wednesday is our 25 year wedding anniversary. I’ve arranged a little getaway… that we can’t afford. What to do for a gift? I want this to be special because when you’ve been together for decades it’s so easy for nothing to be special any more.
Still, I don’t think that there’s a thing I could buy (even if I had money) that would say what I want to say.
I will have to get creative.
@impermanen_ You want *two* new identities. One to be the safer one, and then one sympathizably bad one if they discover you're not really the first one.
You could be bat guano collectors (it's what one of my ancestors did in central America).
@geonz bat guano. That’s good. We could be preeminent bat guano supply chain analysts. Did you know that due to the new tariffs on bat guano some unscrupulous wholesalers are cutting their bat guano with illegally procured rat guano? It’s awful.

One thing we’ve decided: when we leave for our getaway we are adopting alternate identities. We’ve already come up with new names. Now we’re working on our story.
I’m thinking we are a notorious team of international jewel thieves. Always one step ahead of Interpol.
Of course that’s complicated because then we have to have yet another alternative identity that’s the public cover for our true criminal career. Maybe we are luxury bagel entrepreneurs?
