There's a good chance the NatACT First and LabGreen TPM blocs will end up neck and neck after the election, as they have in most polls since 2023. If so, whichever one wants to govern will have no choice but to pass these policies.
I really hope that's how it plays out. I would love to watch Labour and especially the Nats squirm as they swallowed the dead rats (from their POV) and tried to pretend it was their idea all along.

@lightweight assuming bottom lines are bottom lines, there's no question about it. If they're not bottom lines, then Opportunity will never get a second chance. I think they're smart enough to know that its in their interests to follow through.
That's why none of their really transformative policies are in that list. It's all commonsense stuff, that any party who aren't a corporatist front would easily agree with. Which is why both Nats and Labs will struggle to shallow them.

Consider Ireland where Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael did just that in 2020. These are parties who were on opposite sides in Ireland's civil war 100 years ago and bitterly opposed to each other in the past.
Neither has ruled each other out.

Anyone worried that Opportunity were some kind of false front for the corporatist right - despite all the evidence to the contrary - ought to be have their worries put to rest by this. If not, I guess nothing will convince them.
Anyone frustrated with the current regime, and with Labour's spinelessness, is surely going to be encouraged by this. I wouldn't be surprised if they get a boost in the next round of polling.
