Can anyone ID this bug? Found this massive insect in my room this morning, it is around 10 cm long (!) and probably almost 2 cm in diameter at its largest point. In southern France, for context we are in drought and it just rained. A locust?
@paradx @savvykenya first I thought grasshopper, then saw it was bigger, Egyptian locust seems like it although this was bigger than mentioned on Wikipedia! I took it outside in a box and it was bouncing off the walls with incredible force 😅 a big fella indeed
