@GeePawHill A moment that was burned into my psyche was once when I said to my father, “I think <political thing>” and he said “I don’t have to care what you think.”
Funny how casual comments by parents are a bolt to the heart that helps shape your whole life. A career of persuading people I don’t know to care what I think was not a good preparation for retirement.
Leaning into it by translating a 19th century polymath few care about fills only part of the hole in my heart.

I have been mildly useful lately, cleaning things and cooking things more than usual.
It's not doing any good, tho, to be honest.
