Interesting paper, though, thanks for sharing it!
I've been taking note of the ways in which this year's El Niño does or does not get classed as basically "normal" oscillation, and some of the modifiers ("super" and even "Godzilla") to mark it as extra-normal
i guess i'll wait to worry until they're calling it "mega"? 🙃
