The guy who wrote Wool put together a #writing app for himself. It's a really nice balance of minimalism, with a collection of really nice features.
I'd bet good money it's AI written, but that doesn't mean it wouldn't be a nice tool to use.

I'd be tempted to throw Claude at the problem, but org-mode isn't just a simple markdown language like Markdown. That's just the starting point. Org-mode is an ecosystem that utility comes to live in, and a ton of useful things have.

For example:
When I'm #writing emacs highlights things in quotes and square brackets, makes it trivial to create text message style back-and-forth conversations that'll export with message styling in an epub. Allows me to add metadata like POV character, date a scene happened and content warnings into each chapter.
(🗒 I'm using the convention of translated #ASL being in square brackets to differentiate from spoken words.)

Yes, NovelWriter and Scrivener have a lot of similar features, and a lot of great additional ones I don't personally need, but they don't have the customizability and extensibility, and the power of org-mode and full vim capabilities built in.
I dislike that my writing setup is ugly compared to something like Neo, but I get *so much* in exchange for sacrificing a little bit of beauty.

I LOVE the aesthetics, and want to use something that looks that good, but I've got too many really useful features baked into my Emacs setup. Those features, and the extensibility that led to them just *so* powerful. On top of that I have vim style modal editing which is a freaking superpower, and org-mode's built in functionality plus incredibly customizable export capabilities…
Combine all that and I can't leave emacs for something prettier.
