PLEASE BOOST. Urgent question. Has anyone taken transexamic acid before to lessen excessive menstrual bleeding? How effective is it, and when should it be taken? At the start of a period or just when it gets heavy? (For context I'm a trans man with PCOS. My period has just started, and I have been given a script to fill for this so I hopefully can get to my surgery tomorrow- usually my period gets so heavy I flood super pads and tampons within an hour while lying down).

@farah yeah usually I just stay home when this happens, but I need to get an umber to get to surgery tomorrow, and I can't do that while experiencing heavy bleeding(not something I want to have to explain to an Uber driver if I flood their car😅😂). Emergency Department has given me a script but I've never used it before so felt like maybe fedi might have answers. Thank you for your wellwishes🥰
@aceofcosmicspace If you have very heavy bleeding, have you considered wearing post pregnancy disposable underwear? They can hold a lot of fluid without feeling like your ass is getting flooded 😂. They also feel seamless under clothes. Sorry if I’m overstepping. I have severe dislike for menstruation; so whenever I see someone struggling with it, I wish I could help somehow. Anyway, take care.
