me and my runaway zucchini patch beg to differ
@molly0xfff I once got a zucchini for free from the farmers market that was like a mini baseball bat. Cut it into thick slices, salted it, rinsed, and baked mini pizzas on them 👍🏼
@Ashedryden that's a great idea!
@molly0xfff there is nothing I will not turn into pizza
@Ashedryden @molly0xfff I'm definitely going to try this!
@molly0xfff before the image loaded, I genuinely assumed that"zucchini" was some kind of open source project in need of a large patch file...
@molly0xfff My ranch friends from Paonia CO warned about in summer forgetting to roll up your car windows as when you returned the vehicle would be full of zuchinni.
I'm all for turning the zuke torpedoes into pancakes.
i had a zucchini so big that i could only use half of it in a meal i was making, and the remaining half ALONE is 550 grams
@molly0xfff
A hidden zucchini can grow to five kg and more.
And that's just one of them.
@molly0xfff if you have a spiralitzer use it to make zucchini “spaghetti”. Freezes well and can be used with a butter garlic noodle dish! Delish!
@molly0xfff Julia child's zucchini tian uses about 1kg or even more if you need it 😁
@molly0xfff is that not a marrow?
@molly0xfff
Zucchini can really challenge a persons culinary creativity. Replacing eggplant in Mousaka, layered in Lasagna, and one year it even ended up in a dozen jars of hamburger relish. Tasted great but it still took a couple of years to get used up.
@molly0xfff That's what she said?
@molly0xfff zucchini slice time
@molly0xfff In French this is the transition from courgette to courge.
@molly0xfff My partner grew up on a sheep farm. They had a kitchen garden where they grew lots of vegetables for their own use. The regular-sized zucchinis went to the kitchen, and the giant oversized baseball bat zucchinis got tossed over the fence for the sheep to eat.
@molly0xfff splitting a giant zucchini log lengthwise, peel, scape out seeds. Then fill the corpse with meat, tomato, rice style filling and bake. Or make hollow rings and stuff. This is an effective defence against large, aggressive zucchini.
@molly0xfff You maybe should start harvesting your zucchinis sooner. They‘ll be tastier. (My dad also grew gigantic zucchini. It was super challenging to cook against the yield)
@DerMolly i try to, but they love to hide from me
@molly0xfff I wish you the best of luck. Worst case you need to implement a new guest present policy. Someone visits you? They get a zucchini. You visited someone? They get a zucchini. 😁
@molly0xfff For anyone struggling to use their zucchini bounty, I recommend this zucchini bread recipe (from 2019, not AI!). It’s really good and straightforward to make. https://smittenkitchen.com/2019/08/ultimate-zucchini-bread/
@garland i've made four already this season! and if you "grate" the zucchini by chopping it in a food processor it's very quick
@molly0xfff Yes, that makes me think of recipes that ask for a "large" onion.
Zucchini has come to party hard. And it's not going home until you eat (or give away) every last bit of it.
@molly0xfff Uhh, is this the recipe for cheesy zucchini muffins from recipetineats?? I recognized the font and the spelling of "larg-ish" right away because I was going to make these today (until I realized I forgot yogurt lol)
