Look, I'm not a big believer in representative democracy but even if you are, the WAY we do it now, how abstract and large it has become is obviously a problem.

There's something about the abstraction, that takes the human element out of this system and once that element is gone, any atrocity is possible.
How you gonna lead me, tell me you know what's best for me and that's why I should obey you, when you ain't know my name or face? You ain't. You're gonna do what the rich guy in your office waving cash says because I'm just a number and numbers come and go.
I mean for example - I would buy every elected official a house, and make it a law that while in office, they had to live in the house. And where I would buy the house is in the shittiest, most ravaged by capitalism neighborhood that you can still walk to the govt hall from. And I'd tell them "every day, you have to walk through this community you lead, be seen by the people who placed their trust in you - govern accordingly."
Bigness and specifically anonymity/abstraction is not our friend
