With the LG thing happening I was going to post something like "use a cheap PC and a computer monitor", but realized that's not accessible to many.
Do "dumb" TVs even exist?

@Seg @MuseumJoe fwiw the LG issue is they try to connect even if you don’t configure it (scan for open WiFi etc)
@MuseumJoe Fwiw one of my TVs is an LG and it's simply not hooked to the network; I use it exclusively with an Apple TV and it works great (you can find 4K Apple TVs used for pretty cheap and they'll last forever).

factory reset and no internet and the ads go away
