How many times can someone say punk is dead or they made AGI or the strait is open before people catch on?

I don't feel like there was this much lying when I was younger but maybe I wasn't paying attention.
@futurebird Might be that the quantity is the same, but the scope is larger and the quality is so very much lower. These are gigantic lies, and ludicrous ones. There's no real sense that the liars care whether anyone believes them or not.
