how safe do people feel with the .social TLD? Do we have any evidence of the owners of it responding to sanctions yet?

I’m a little out of the loop but I’m vaguely aware this in relation to a certain group being labeled persona non grata by the US gov’t, bringing up a bunch of questions of who could be under legal scrutiny whilst using decentralized/federated tech (ex: activitypub here)
@jackvalinsky.com well web in general not just AP. Not sure how ATP would hold up much better if people were providing services ontop, I don't think I have seen any atmosphere projects try to go against the grain of us sanctions
@liaizon the registry is US-based (Identity Digital, big operation) so they’ll fold if there are sanctions IMO
