as do most of us
Okay I will but RESENTFULLY.
I do like the other, more gritty and grim adaptations, they’re masterpieces, obviously. But I do also very much like the more… spirited? characters in this adaptation. Batou especially is incredible.
@halcy i feel like this adaptation belongs very much in the current year in the same way that the movie and SAC belong in their respective eras.
which is kind of a weird thing to say considering this adaptation sticks very close to the manga and that was written in 1989.
the humor in this adaptation just makes the pensive moments hit even harder.
also obviously this adaptation is just one of the best-looking anime ever produced. the opening scene of episode 3 especially is just. phwoar.
Also, this may be a weird thing to say, but this show has the best looking rain. It just looks gorgeous.
@halcy the idea of beautiful anime rain is bittersweet to me, as it is one of the things that made me give up using my thinkpad x200 as my main laptop. it could cope with 1080p h.265 at normal bitrate, but not at Beautiful Anime Rain bitrates, so i never got to see Beautiful Anime Rain. only Datamoshed Anime Rain
@jk maybe thanks to the power of modern technology you can enjoy this rain, or maybe masto processes it into mush. We will see.
@halcy idk if I would consider SAC gritty tbh
@elomatreb well, relative to science sarus The Ghost in the Shell :D
@halcy@icosahedron.website i won't
@Stellar that‘s illegal! 🚨
