Which color was your first computer? 💻 🎨
@Em0nM4stodon
No case. A perf board with DIP chips in wire-wrap sockets on top, and square pins and a rats nest of green wire on the bottom.
@Em0nM4stodon I feel very young now voting for black. (ó﹏ò。)
@Em0nM4stodon Wang Pro PC... kinda dirty green colour. Wierd! 🤷♂️
@Em0nM4stodon @Lazarou It was a bare circuit board.
Had to search because I remembered the computer quite well (TI99/4A) but not its color. (I'm somewhat colorblind and don't usually think of things in terms of their color unless I have some specific reason to.)
@Em0nM4stodon My first computer was an XT compatible that came with MS-DOS 3.2 and GEM 2.something in the late 1980s. Of course it was beige.
@Em0nM4stodon It was a gray laptop.
@Em0nM4stodon Where’s gray though? Not that I had one, but Atari ST’s were distinctively gray and not beige. 🤔
@Em0nM4stodon Yellow, but I'm lowering the average age of a person here
Beigevengers assemble... preferably in basic.
Brass, with mahogany end cheeks.
@Em0nM4stodon not this one but same model even same weirdly small monitor. The basic had computed gosubs and arrays such that I was able to write recursive code. Possibly my favorite code ever was a math expression parser that knew about complex numbers. And filling the 8k with digits of pi and e, using assembly. I couldn't view or use the digits but they were there. BCD for e at least.
@Em0nM4stodon @phlash My first computer was an Olivetti 286. It was grey.
@Em0nM4stodon Lime. (an iMac G3)
