@fiore the first time i read it i thought it was describing problems that were just too hard for anyone else to solve and i assumed people just got bored of them and i had resolved to one day figure out the literal three-body problem, which along with differences between pairs of prime numbers has taken up so many hours of my time rearranging symbols on paper. i thought i was simply not educated in the ways to attack them with mathematics. along with intense dyslexia it was a major reason i decided numbers and figures were artificial difficulty

@fiore this is kinda why godel escher bach was very underwhelming to me. i liked the first half when he talks about periodicity but as i just now looked up his incredibly basic bitch interpretation of cyclic generating sets in finite field arithmetic (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strange_loop) i realized i took the complete opposite interpretation i was intended to from bach's endlessly rising canon. i thought "oh shit infinity is real you can make infinity out of nothing in your head"

i am literally terrible at shape rotation (i had to take a test to get into the NSA middle school summer camp) and i'm also terrible at arithmetic (and not just because of dyslexia). my brain is in fact very tiny and i have frequently been advised to "cut it out" with my overt and unmistakeable tendency towards premature abstraction during code review

@fiore but in fact i actually do not enjoy being sidetracked at all. and i do in fact try very hard to cut my losses and refocus when programming.
and this is also why i'm unbeatable at prototyping because prototyping is when you have an excuse to just not solve any nontrivial problem because you have a deadline to make
@fiore but the fascist IQ test for the NSA summer camp had a third component, where they made you remember arrangements of colored blobs (they specifically used piss yellow and shit brown which are both actually very fun colors if you like colors) and then demand the test taker reproduce the same sequence of racist blob arrangements either 15 or 30 minutes later, while doing the shape rotation part i completely fucked up in between the memorization and recall components
