As a person who has trouble distinguishing colors, I’m looking for a feature/accommodation that adjusts the colors on my whole screen. The best place to find this feature is in:

@danirabbit With "Display" I think of resolution, refresh rate etc - things related to the physical display/screen. With "Appearance" I think of how the UI functions as a whole - overall theming, motions/animations etc.
Perhaps a "Colours"/"Visuals" category (similar to "Audio"/"Sound") is a better grouping for these kind of settings? This will enable more options to fine-tune various aspects of colouring.
@danirabbit I do not have this problem , so I will refrain from skewing the poll, but to my mind appearance is for elements on the display that are changed independently of one another. Make this kind of button blue, make that menu font bigger, etc. Display is for system wide changes that are always visible. Display resolution, refrsh rate, color profiles. That seems like the most sensible place to me for this particular feature to live, with the other color profiles.
@danirabbit Is it possible to put it in one section, but put a link to it in the other section saying something like "Looking for this? Click here to be taken to the section it's in."
It's not as neat, but maybe it's a solution for any confusion there.
@danirabbit I chose Appearance Settings. Mostly because that's where you change other aspects of color, like highlight colors, light/dark mode, et al. Having something that adjusts color as a whole is still adjusting appearance, is my thinking.
I always take Display Settings to mean adjusting the "physical" display, like resolution, refresh, display brightness, and so on.
Whenever I post something like this I always get comments from people saying “okay but can’t you segregate this into a separate accessibility section”. Which id love for you to sit with that
And then there’s always the “but think of the poor disabled people who won’t know what to do if we don’t treat them separately” which id also like you to sit with
I’ve never had a person who is disabled and used these features say “golly gee I wish you would shove me back to the corner where I belong”
@danirabbit Accessibility first, but Display next. And Display should link to the Accessibility screen so you don't need to duplicate settings.
If you will still have a separate Appearance screen, you could include some help text about the accessibility settings, also with a link, if possible.
@danirabbit Echoing the idea that this might be best in "accessibility settings" if there is a panel for that. If not, I'd probably look for such a thing in Appearance Settings first.
@danirabbit Is there no "Accessibility Settings" section that could also include this feature (regardless of whether it also lives in Appearance and/or Display Settings)?
