Random question for the Fediverse: anyone have a favorite way of extracting pomegranate juice from pomegranates (after peeling), which doesn't make it look like you've just committed mass murder in your kitchen and all over your shirt? 🤪
(no problem extracting the seeds from the pomegranates themselves, do that in water... it's just the squeezing of seeds I am wondering about).
Have you tried using a juicer?
LOL after attempting to use a manual juicer, local knowledge (ie, the spouse) came by and said "what the heck are you doing it that way for, just use the blender and a strainer"
@ai6yr I put the seeds in a blender with some pomegranate molasses, some beets (to preserve color), and some red chili paste and it makes a dandy chutney.
Buy the juice already juiced? 😉
I wouldn't, because the pomegranate juice monopoly is owned by two billionaires who own POM Wonderful, who are anti-union and anti-farmworker

I don't buy that product but damn it, is there anything that billionaires don't own, and are any of them not fucking miscreants.
Our problem is society hasn't figured out how to identify malignant sociopaths and destroy them.
We really have; we just gave up all those techniques when we started using money. Money is sociopath camoflage.
Interesting. How did we destroy the sociopaths before then? What was it about the invention of money that caused us to lose whatever it was we were doing correctly?
Social retribution, mostly. If you disrespect me, then you disrespect my friends and my family, and my associates and comrades and such. Without money to er, grease the gears so to speak, people had to form much stronger relationships, and build reputation with each other. And generally people lived with each other for most of their lives, without moving far away, so they could establish that trust.
Even in that system, sociopaths can bullshit to damage someone's reputation, to turn their friends and family against them, but they can't do anything that will protect themselves from scrutiny. There may be bands of fools following sociopaths competing over how big assholes they can be, but they ultimately turn on each other, and communities can separate them out, and y'know... fight them off.
@cy I wonder if the turning point is money per se or just too many humans so that the social ties are too diffuse.
