How can Christian communities and technology experts build shared understanding and action for the common good?
Over the last two decades, I've been privileged to see many of the ways that scientists engage with communities of faith.
In 2026, something feels different, as Christian communities have learned to ask critical questions about technology and face the urgency of choosing a more wholesome path than the one that tech firms try to scare us into adopting.
So I'm grateful to have some time this year with the Grefenstette Center for Ethics in Science, Technology, and Law at Duquesne to develop a (TBA) initiative that connects experts and organizers with diverse Christian communities who need to understand, act, and re-imagine the role of technology in our lives.

I know a lot of folks are skeptical of religion, and you have lots of reason to be.
I personally struggle to connect with Christian cultures that aren't good at acknowledging wrongs, repenting, and finding hope in the art of seeking mercy/restitution.
That's why I am excited to work with John Slattery at Duquesne, a scholar and organizer on the history of eugenics in Western science and religion.
The film he produced on "Science as Mastery" is a powerful introduction to these themes.
