@farbel @Firlefanz Rob, btw, could say "Excuse me, I dropped my watch in the mashed potatoes" in 40+ languages.
Whenever he met someone who spoke a language he didn't have, he'd get them to write it down phonetically for him, then practice with them until he could pull it off.
I watched him meet, on multiple occasions, native speakers of languages he already had down, and watched them brighten with astonishment and laughter when he deployed his one sentence.
