@farah My actual vote (al-jee) is for when I’m speaking English. I have seen enough classical Latin to have a hard time avoiding “al-guy” (/æl ‘gai/), however.

i have no clue wtf a gidorah is supposed to be
and tbh i can't think of a starting-with-g word that i would find gentle-g usage as wrong, just slightly unusual
both jiraffe AND giraffe sound right to me
