Shout out to my bike, which costs nothing to own, nobody can tell me I can't ride it, and there is no legal mechanism for the state to take it ransom.
The amount I have to pay to continue to own the car I already own is less than the lifetime costs of my bike, which ive had for more than 20 years.
idk, do you want to pay the municipality or pay the cops directly?
@jonny I had this question once when someone stole my car, took it for a joyride, crashed it totally destroying it. I asked my insurance company if I could just not claim, because the increased cost of insurance premiums from making the claim over the next few years would be more than the value of the car. They were very confused, looked it up, and said yes I could, but then I'd have to organise and pay for the smashed car to be disposed of, which turned out to be quite expensive. Ah well. There's no way to win, or even to lose less badly.
