Interesting security measures: the latest generation of Australian passports.
I just tried scanning my partner's new one, in the process of some paperwork. Me, because I have the flatbed scannner in the house.
As soon as you scan that passport, the scanner returns a 100% black image on that and every subsequent scan. It resets when you unplug and re-plug it, and scans other things just fine, but that passport breaks it every time.
This isn't a new scanner, either; it's a Canon LIDE:20, which I've had for years and successfully used to scan RFID passports in the past.
