I am a normally proportioned person 1 inch shorter than the North American median height for a woman and it is extremely difficult to find a dining chair that lets me put my feet flat on the floor comfortably. It's possible if I want to shell out 700-1200 CAD per chair on a Japanese import - or more to have have something custom built/customized.
The standard seat height is perfectly fine for my partner, who is in the 99.5th percentile for height.
Also, fellow non-giants - why do we accept this miserable status quo?
