A shot in the dark but does anyone have a contact to anyone from collectiveidea (who have, at least in the past, maintained the delayed_job and audited gems among others)?
I've sent them a friendly email regarding audited but was ignored.
audited is a somewhat load bearing gem on two projects I maintain and I would like to understand the situation before I decide to hard fork (which I really don't want to do).
Sometimes I wonder if Ruby needs something like the ember-adopted-addons org - A painless and effective way to salvage projects from orgs or individuals who moved on to greener pastures, so that we don't fully lose those projects over long term.
Bit rot (even if just figuratively) is real.
I would envision that as a group of open source developers, collectively taking ownership over important bits of the Ruby eco system, so that the load can be shared.
Might be a pipe dream but also might be necessary in a Ruby ecosystem that doesn't particularly grow, it seems.
@halfbyte I think that Ruby as a whole might be too wide net to cast, but I think it could happen on a more granular level (like a framework or library with ecosystem, such as Sidekiq). On the other hand, I understand how it could be seen as additional burden for maintainers or the parent project.
