Half the alumina exported from the Aughinish factory near Foynes in Ireland goes straight to Russia, while Russia is using alumina to make aluminum for drones that kill civilians in Ukraine.
Yet Irish Minister of State Niall Collins believes the collaboration with Putin should continue, because technically, Zelenskyy cannot prove that it is the alumina from the Irish factory that ends up in the drones, only that it is exported to Russia.
What an absolute muppet.

@randahl I'm not saying they would, of course, but it's interesting to think about how Ireland is within range of the Flamingo missiles that Ukraine has been using to knock out war-supporting industrial facilities in Russia.
And also worth mention are the long range drones that have been disrupting Russia's shipping in the Baltic Sea.
Even while fighting for their right to exist, Ukraine shows a lot of restraint.
And of course this Irish politician supports Elon's misinformation site X, where he responds to criticism this way:
