@idzie i suspect it’s because the average person is only familiar with maybe three or four kinds; all of them associated with garbage/sewage/corpsy things.
@mycrowgirl I'm sure you're right! More people need to know about bee/wasp mimic flies, those ones are all a lot more charismatic lol
@idzie i’ve seen a few folx be surprised by the diversity when they stumbled on the # FlyDay tag.
In general, it really feels like social media has been a boon for helping folx move from fear/ick to appreciation with a lot of critters. 🥰
