A small epiphany on gender awareness while making my first ever hair ties joke: When married to a member of the opposite (predominant) sex and raising children of the (predominant) opposite sex, it only takes an open mind and remarkably little effort to lean into hair ties, periods, dresses, endless facial products, literally pallets of stuffed animals at the garage sale, pink and pastel colors… all of it.
