Recommending a non-open source social media app simply because it is Europe-based is so stupid. Then there's the fact that the app requires you to download via Google Play or the App Store unless you go the unsupported route. If they support direct APK downloads, it isn't obvious.

“All” of their external links lead to proprietary social media! Even the Microsoft's LinkedIn! Who is approving these posts?!

The priority should be open source first, European second.
Stop being dumb.

Problem-Tor Browser takes up too much space, worried about my photos and videos. What are good options for Photos and iMovie ?

Gmail > Addy & Tuta. Best if each accounts has their own email alias.

Google Docs > LibreOffice. Offline and far more private. Usually come preinstalled on Linux.

WhatsApp > SimpleX. Signal could leave this year if Bill C-22 passes in Canada.

Tor Browser > Gets blocks far too often, Mullvad is my preference. It was made in partnership with the Tor project.

Android browser > Forks of Mozilla browsers are too insecure.
Vanadium's adblocker is very basic.
Brave works best for me. It has security, privacy, adblocking, and speed.

Instagram > Pixelfed? I don't use this style of social so I can't say whats good or not.

@Tutanota really weird of you to promote a closed, proprietary social network from a free, open social network...

Too many products are trying to be the new Facebook, but splitting users across all these new alternatives ensures none of them will succeed. The fediverse on the other hand is only strengthend by more applications joining the network. It will outlive the wave of new social media apps.

Well, Monnett Social is close source.
PixelFed will be a better drop-in replacement.
Also, Tor isn't supposed a day-to-day browser.

- Google Doc → CryptoPad / LibreOffice / OnlyOffice
- WhatsApp → Signal / Wire / Session / Element (or FluffyChat) / DeltaChat
- Chrome → Mullvad / Brave / LibreWolf
- IG → PixelFed

Gmail supports imap natively, tuta isn't a drop in replacement.
