Is there a term for the logical fallacy of "being a specialist in a field making people wrongly assume their knowledge applies in other fields"?
Sort of related to Dunning-Kruger but not the same (Dunning-Kruger is "some knowledge in one field makes people wrongly assume more knowledge in that field").
@thomasfuchs in my headcanon it's Senior Physicist Syndrome. because they so often end up pontificating on the nature of consciousness or alien civilizations or the mind of god, like knowing how to calculate how things move gives one special insight into imponderables.
As an example, many good software developers see some usefulness from LLMs for coding—and wrongly assume LLMs must therefore also be useful in other fields.

@cmdrmoto that's for the same domain, I mean more along the lines of "I'm an expert at repairing cars, therefore I'm a master cook" (exaggerated example)
@thomasfuchs No you see, once you understand it as well as I do you see how cooking is just another corollary to the domain of car repair - therefore I am an expert chef
But it seems you’re thinking these domains are somehow separate. So maybe there’s a different fallacy you’re looking for.
