It’s tempting to think becoming homeless would simplify our lives, but that hasn’t been the case for at least two or three hundred years. Still, that’s not a reason to let myself get too attached.
lol on LinkedIn I’m a “Founder” and on Mastodon I contemplate living with my wife under a bridge. So ridiculously American.
@impermanen_ On Mastodon you're an ass influencer. 👍
Bridges suck by the way. Lots of noise. Tried sleeping under this one once and it was horrible: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VmFfJKoXw88
fear of living under a bridge is the glue that binds US society (though manifested in many different ways)
@inquiline I think what bothers me more than anything since I quit working for The Man is how much of The Man I ended up reproducing. All this fucking bootstrapping and I’m more isolated than ever.
i feel this so hard. i don't work for The Man, i just reproduce social order that The Man coincidentally finds very beneficial, while also being allowed to critique The Man, yet from a safe remove where he's insulated from it landing. it's consciousness bifurcations and doppelgangers all the way down
